Consider a person who is chased by an attacker, runs for several minutes before being caught then fights their attacker, before being killed. Think of the four major methods used to estimate elapsed time since death in the first 24 or so hours after death (algor, rigor, livor, digestion). Which of these methods would be affected by this activity? What is affecting them? Why? What would the effect be?

If a body is stabbed and then dumped in a ditch with water in it, what will happen to the body? What is this process called? What is happening to the body and why? How might this help us forensically?
